My big boy bed!

Check me out! 24 hours later....I am still maintaining my temperature!
Great Aunt Judy gave me this great blanket. My Great Aunt Margie sent me the cute giraffe keeping me company in my crib! All the other babies in the NICU are very jealous!

Finn Update

I just wanted to update everyone on how Finn is doing. Tomorrow, he will be 2 weeks old. He is up to a big 4lbs, 14oz! Finn had a second brain scan done Monday morning because his first scan came back abnormal - apparently common in preemies. We are so happy to report the results came back this morning, NORMAL!!!! If that wasn't reason enough to celebrate, he was put in a crib today as well. He has to maintain his temperature all by himself, which uses up a lot of his energy. There is still a good chance he will get moved back to his incubator, so keep your fingers crossed! The big thing we have to master is feeding. Finn is attempting to take a bottle and he is allowed to nurse with Mommy once a day. He hasn't been able to finish either one yet. He doesn't have the endurance. So he is still fed through a feeding tube. He is going to continue working with a speech pathologist to develop his suck-swallow skills.

It has been SO difficult leaving our sweet little boy in the hospital these two weeks. It is even more difficult not knowing how long he will be there. Matt and I can't thank everyone enough for all the kind e-mails, blog posts, phone calls - which we are sorry we never have time to return! The gift baskets, flowers, cards, dinners - huge help! Everyone's love and support are helping us get through this difficult time. Thanks so much to Nana and Grammy and all of our families for helping us to take care of Sam, running to the grocery, cooking, and doing whatever needs to get done so that we can spend time with both our boys. We hope that Sam and Finn can meet each other soon! We couldn't do it without you! (A big THANK YOU to my fabulous hubby who has been my rock through this. You help me through my many emotional breakdowns and even get up to sit with me while I pump at all hours of the night!!!).

We will continue to keep everyone up to date when we have any changes. Keep us in your prayers!

This Thanksgiving We Have SO Much To Be Thankful For!

Aunt Chris, Uncle Jim, and Grammy took good care of me so Mommy and Daddy could go back and forth from the hospital
It is VERY hard to leave Finn in the NICU, but I know they are taking good care of my baby brother. He has gained 3 ounces and was able to drink half of a bottle today before he got too tired. It takes a lot of energy!!! I hope he gets out soon, so that I can finally meet him!

Today was
my first attempt at a bottle. It went pretty well so tomorrow I get to try to nurse with Mommy. Sucking and swallowing are the hardest skills for me to learn as a preemie.

Wearing my shades under the Bilirubin Light. This light will help get rid of my Jaundice. Mommy and Daddy can't wait to get my treatment over so that they can hold me more often.

A date with my Mommy

Finn and Mommy are allowed a 2 hour snuggle date once a day. It is their favorite time of day. Finn is spending his time under a special Bilirubin light. Once he starts getting better, he and Mommy can have more dates!

Finn William Leckrone

My little brother arrived on November 14th at 5:14pm. He weighed in at 4lb, 3oz, and is 17 inches long. He was 7 1/2 weeks early. So far he is breathing on his own and doing really well! Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

Baby #2

Sorry we haven't posted much. Baby #2 wants to come early and I have been helping Mommy out at the hospital. She's only 32 weeks, and her water already broke, so keep us in your prayers. My little brother or sister needs to stay put for as long as they can!!! I'd like to throw a shout out to Grammy and Nana for taking good care of me.
